~What It Means to Be Scene~
A lot of people think that being "Scene" means to have big, teased hair, wear skinny jeans, have animal-print extensions, and buy all your clothes from Hot Topic.
They couldn't be any more wrong.
Sure, those things are pretty popular in Scene Culture, and many Scene Girls tend to use them to express themselves. But what being Scene REALLY means is to just have fun with your style. It means that you don't base what you choose to wear off of what's popular, or what's in season, or what Seventeen told you to wear. It means that you wear and do and say WHAT you want, WHEN you want to!
So many people these days just base their entire being off of what's expected of them. Scene Girls are the ones who realized how much Mainstream doesn't matter. Scene Girls are themselves, completely. Some people think all Scene Girls are the same, but it's the complete opposite! Ever Scene Girl has her own style, she is unique and special and as different as one person's fingerprint from another's. We understand what it means to express ourselves, and we do it in how we dress, how we talk, how we act. We're not afriad to just be OURSELVES, rather than keeping everything bottled up inside so we're not ridiculed or made fun of.
Who CARES what other people think? Ten years down the road, we won't even remember their name, and they won't remember ours. So we should just enjoy being people, enjoy the fact that there is NO law that says how to dress or talk or act, no Fashion Police who will come and make us change.
So SCREW the dress codes, SCREW the mainstream, and SCREW what other people think! If you're scene, then you know to look past that and stop being what you're not, just to satisfy others. Sure, we're different. Sure, we're crazy. Sure, we're weird! Who cares?No us :)

They're not fake & they don't represent anyone but themselves! Maybe instead of judging them - you should become one of them?!!
From there extsenstions to their clothes, they are quite gorgeous, & most of them, know how to have fun! They have great photography, and beautiful make up skills... No wonder why people want to be them! But the sad thing is, scene queens get fakes >.

Do you want to have awesome scene hair?!
Well, then continue to read. I will give you the text tutorial on how I do my hair, and some ideas on how to do other types of scene hair.
First you will need the following:
Straightener
Teasing Comb
Razor Comb
Scissors
Brush
Clips
Hair Extensions (For Short Hair)
Hair Spray (Got 2 Be Glued)
If you do have shorter hair, and you like it that way you can do this hairstyle with out the hair extensions.
First turn on your hair straightener, and wait for it to become warm enough it will straighten your hair. While it is heating up lift up the top layer of hair, and leave a thin layer of hair. You should begin straightening your hair right now, but don't hold it on for to long because the heat will damage you hair.
Second after you get all of your hair straightened you can begin to cut it. The way I like to cut my hair is at the edges of my hair, and use the razor comb. This gives a lot of layers (If you do it correctly), and it turns out very nice. You can continue to do this through out all of your hair, and give it a lot of layers. You can also do this to your bangs, and it will turn out with some nice jagged lays in them as well. If you want to have the nice slant covering your eye you will just hold a comb up to the point where you want it cut, and use the scissors.
Soon after your hair is all cut you can pick up the teasing comb. What I like to do at first is tease my bangs underneath just a bit this gives you a nice little poof. You can also start teasing your hair upwards starting at the middle of your head (Should be right behind your bangs.) Grab the hairspray, and start to spray it (At a reasonable distance way.) Soon your hair should be sticking right up. If your like me, and have tons of multi length layers so you like to keep the teased hair raised up, then do it. If you just want the dramatic poof then start to fold your hair backwards, and add a lot more teased layers to the poof. This will give it the dramatic scene poof that is very beautiful.

Why all the hatred towards scene kids?
I always see people criticizing the scene community. I honestly don't know why. So i decided to explain some of these commonly hated scene topics.
The scene style:
The scene style is very unique. It's daring, some might say. Alot of people think it's crazy that people would actually dye their hair certain colors, get piercings, dress a certain way, tease their hair and such. They're all looking at it the wrong way. They're making it seem as if being different is wrong. In a world of followers, being unique is a wonderful thing.
The scene attitude:
Everyone tends to say that scene kids are rude. Which actually isn't true. They don't know every scene person out there, do they? Everyone has a different personality. Just because someone is classified as scene, that doesn't mean that they all have the same mean and rude personality. I run a site modeling website, and I deal with alot of scene guys and girls. I've only had to remove one model for rude remarks. Other than that, they're all very friendly. Every scene person that i have ever come in contact with had a very friendly and bubbly personality. I thought scene was the upbeat version of emo, so where did all these rude labels come from? People have to take into consideration that scene kids are the most commonly fake people, they have a right to be pissed off.
The Site modeling:
SIte modeling originaly started on myspace. Scene girls and guys are usually the ones who fit the criteria. Alot of people are always saying that site models are just "wannabe models". This actually isn't true. Site modeling is alot different than actual modeling. When being a site model, you can take your own pictures, do your own hair & makeup, dress the way you want to, and pose the way you choose. Site models get to pick their own unique name. Site modeling is a good way to become well known, make new friends and boost your self esteem. It shows that everyone is beautiful in their own way, what's so bad about that?

* You Can Wear Makeup Whether Your A Boy Or A Girl. Be Creative. Liquid Eyeliner Is Best For Creating Designs Around Your Eyes. Test Out Many Different Ones Till You Find Which Suits You Best. Don't Be Afraid. Get Out There And Be You!! Be Scene(:

I'm a very unique person. I'm very strong, but also very weak. I can be stubborn, but in the next instant you could break my heart. I'm very emotional. I live for poetry, photography & music; without those things I would have no life. I'm not your average girl. I'm intelligent, yet I make bad choices. I give people too many 2nd chances. Scene girls often come off as rude teens. Most people would be pleasantly surprised if a scene kid came up to them and was super nice, because most people immediately think that Scene kids are going to be arrogant and full of themselves because of the stereotype.

Being scene isn't always some kind of clique or should be a label you use to describe somebody. It's about the music the style and the uniqueness of it all. Stand out and just be yourself because being normal is overrated but just remember it doesn't give you the right to be arrogant, be nice because people like others who aren't jerks ;P Most importantly just have fun being yourself!

Being Scene Just Means Being Unique And Being Yourself. You Shouldn't Have To Worry About What Other People Say Or Think About You. You Should Be Whoever You Want To Be. Don't Be Afraid To Have Your Own Wild Style And Don't Be Afraid To Face The World Head On!! Just Remember, People These Are Judgy And Mean, So Be Prepared To Face The Angry Stares And Hateful Comments, Especially If Scene Kids Are Rare Around Your Area, But Don't Worry About It. Scene Kids Are Probably The Most Outrageuos People In the World, So The Don't Worry About All The Little People Who Think They Are Tough Just Because They Put Everyone Else Down. You Should Try Being Scene. :)
