I was young when my father died, but old enough to know that black represented mourning, so I began to dress in dark colors, and wear heavy black makeup to show that I was lost in the world without him. That style stuck with me all throughout middle school, and it wasn't until I reached my freshman year in high school that I stumbled upon the 'emo/scene' trend. It was easy for me to pick up because I already wore the cat eye makeup and the skinny jean-thirft store look. But I soon found a way to dress up my style to be categorized as a Scene Queen. I began to wear splashes of blue around my eyes with the black eyeliner to make my eyes pop. I started wearing scene scarfs, flats, big glasses, and tutus on Tuesdays. :) I wear (expensive) 20 inch extensions and tease my hair daily to get the emo/scene hair.
To be a Scene Queen you have to be strong, and stay positive even when people look down on you for your appearance. You have to be yourself, and be unique, you can't be afraid to start a new trend.
