No matter where you are, people will criticize you. There will always be someone who doesn't like you; it's impossible to please everyone. You need to learn to embrace your flaws. It's important to know who you are and know what you want. Remember, most people hate because they're jealous or hating makes them feel powerful. Stand out to be confident. Don't ever become scene just to please your peers. Also if you are going to be a scene kid in a place where they are extremely rare, be prepared for the many angry glares and discrimination you will get from other people. However, be careful not to become overconfident. Nobody wants to interact with someone who puts them down or acts like a jerk, but don't let people walk all over you either. You need to know just the right balance, you absolutely should be nice. People say scene kids are weird, freaky, and emo but everyone is different. The media and society need to accept that true fact and even if they don't, all we can do is try and be confident. Being a Scene is more than just a title or a fun way to "dress up." It is a lifestyle that you have to be truly committed to. Understanding who you are is a big part of being a Scene. Taking risks and setting goals are vital to developing self-confidence and self-acceptance. Knowing who you are and where you come from; and not being ashamed of it is are the perfect solutions to all the problems of being a Scene Kid.

Life is hard! Growing up is difficult. When does it become easier? Each day feels like a routine, you get up, go to school, go home, do homework, watch television and go to bed. Then the cycle repeats itself over and over again. Each day is filled with excitement and laughter, but each day is filled with its problems. Some are tiny but others hit you like a brick wall. That's where friends come in, the problem might not get easier but friends are there to pick you up when things get tough. My friend once told me, "Never focus your life on your problems but focus harder on the happier things like family, friends and love.

so I'm just hoping I get accepted.
I have blondish/white hair.
I like black and blue.
My favorite band is Every Time I Die.
And this paragraph has absolutely nothing to do about being scene.

Let your uniqueness shine through every pore on your skin, coz you're one of a kind. Be insane, be boring, be nerdy, be a camera whore, be a hippy, be YOU. Awesomeness comes from within; don't let anybody tell you different. SceneKiddz forever. <3

People are always trying to be perfect and to please everybody, but looking at reality that's impossible. If we study for a test doesn't always mean we're going to get perfect. We all make mistakes. And we all have something about ourself that we don't like. For example, a birth mark or mole. But those little things are part of what makes you, you. Scene is not about pleasing others, but it's about being yourself and showing who you are. Not everyone agree's with it. But that's because people all have different oppinions. Ones favourite colour could be purple and the other orange. If it's rare in your town/city for there to be a scene, and your scene, you will get a lot of looks, and sometimes comments mostlikely. Don't listen to them, just smile. Your you. And you have your own beliefs so stand up for them and don't be afraid to share your own oppinion.

Aloha bugs n ghouls,
well my name is Ariel, I believe I was put on this hellish planet to mess it up and put it back together, at least a little bit better. If I can make someone smile, that is a great accomplishment, and makes my day valuable. When someone tells me I cant do something, or expects me to fail, that is the best possible reason to do it. I once believed I couldnt skateboard, and then I spent a whole summer learning and now I can ride the parks and ollie just like the boys, I once thought I couldnt play guitar, but I taught myself and wrote my own songs. Now you think of all the stuff you cant do, maybe its singing, painting, doing a back flip, CHANGING THE WORLD, and tell yourself

Chaylon Contagious
We all judge people. Whether we mean to or not. We judge by looks, style, taste in music, how much money we have, our personalities, and even more everything that makes us stand out. My name is Chaylon Paige, and I am 16 years old. I live in a small town nestled in missouri. Way down here you don't find many Scene kids. Just the original "Hick", or "Country guy/girl". Most of them have never even heard half of the music loved by scene girls and guys everywhere. Hot topic is labeled as "Emo", or for Scene kids. Most peoples' parents won't let them step foot in the store. Going to a school where you stand out in many ways is extremely hard. Being judged for your hair, your taste in clothing, the way you fix your makeup. People consider you a freak for wearing bows, or teased hair. They whisper about you, and stare when you walk by. So if your with me, stand with who you are. Don't ever be ashamed of the way you dress or look. This is you and the people who matter will love you for who you are no matter what you look like. So be judged and don't let it bother you. Everyone is beautiful inside and out in their own way, whether other people know it or not. Let your insane fashion taste bleed through the peoples eyes that walk all over us for being "different". Show your inner Scene beauty and show them what your made of. Smile at the smirks, Laugh at the rude comments, and walk like you just don't care what the h*ll anyone else thinks about you. We are Scene Queens and we believe in ourselves for who are. No matter who judges us!(:

Every day we surround ourselves with nothing but labels and judgement, whether we're in preschool or on our death bed. You'll find that that most people fall into that judgement, and spend their daily lives pretending to be something they're not just to feel accepted. Being scene is a way to express yourself of who you really are, and break away from that judgement. It's a free ticket to feeling beautiful everyday, no matter how tall, short, big, or you are. Us scene kids understand each other, and we know how to accept everyone. We're may be just people, but put us together and we make up a great big family. I'm not saying we're perfect, because we're definitely far from it. All I'm saying is becoming scene and breaking free from letting people step all over me was probably the smartest thing I've done in my entire life. We're not haters, though we sure have a lot, in fact we like everyone, preps, nerds, emos, jocks, etc. When we're sad we help each other up, not continue to make each other feel bad. Like I said, we're just people, but in all honesty, scene kids are the best people you'll ever meet.

EXTRA, EXTRA!! Another Scene Here, yes, It is true, No matter where you are, or who you are, There WILL always be some one who doesn’t like you for who you are, or how you dress. Imposable to Please every one you know. So all I say is, Just Don’t Do It!! It is important not to let people, especially Haters to change who you are. Most people do it to make them feel more Pretty, or Like nothings wrong with them, Ect. Don’t do something to just do it! Like it, Love it, Be it! People will give glares no matter what, even if u are a rare style. Never become to confident in yourself, because if you do, that might bring other people down, but don’t let other people controlle you either! No matter what, Be fair, and Nice!!

Being scene isnt about thinking your better than anyone else. It's not about goin around thinking "omg im so beautiful and im better than everyone" Being scene is about showing off YOUR own individuality and who you are as a person. It's about showing others you dont care what they think. Its about self expression. If you think being scene will just please the others around you, you're very wrong. Yes, people will criticize you and tell you stupid stuff that is VERY harsh, but you shouldnt let that bother you. They're just missin out on someone that could just as easy be a good friend to them. You also shouldn't become over-confident, if you do you will just be considered snobby and no one will want to hang out with you. But you shouldn't let others walk all over you. You're not a doormat. Just remember, BE YOURSELF, BE WHO YOU ARE, DONT CHANGE FOR ANYONE, DONT LET THE JEALOUS HATERS BRING YOU DOWN. You're perfect just the way you were created. :3

Hey,My name is Leanna[:
I'm 13 and I live in North Carolina.
Ever since I was little I've loved the idea of modeling.
I know that not everyone will like me, and that I can't please everyone. I don't try to. I won't try to.
I have a lot of confidence in myself, but I do get put down a lot by people. I am who I am, and no one can EVER change me. Nor will I change for anyone.
I do really hope that you consider me for site modeling. I do have to admit though, the picture I submitted isn't one of my greatest. Like I said, consider me please. You won't regret it. My friend Chey told me I should try out for site modeling...so here I am.
Thanks :3

SO YUSH.
PEACE + LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND, YAAH? :D
No, but srsly.
I have this boyfriend who's all like "rock music! violence!" and I'm just layke serious-face. I don't think people understand that if we all just went around with awesome knee-high socks and loved everyone then this world would be the best place it possibly could be.
ANYWAY. BOUT ME. :D
I'll list some facts.
Fourteen years old.
Female (duh!).
Totally in love. <3
Purple and black are the colours of my life.
From the UK (London, to be specific).
Unfortunaaately my school have decided to be ttly ebil and ban hair colourings - so I can only tint my hair purple which is f lame.
I don't swear.
NOW TO SCENE PEOPLE?
Well, it's simple. People try to stereotype us and make us cliche, but we're not.
Each one of us is different, yknow?
Like... I don't like in America, so I'm just basing this off my life.
But I don't see many scene kids where I come from.
And the one's I do see are so different to me.
And to each other.
We're not all the same, we're different.
And by being different we draw attention to ourselves, we make a SCENE (geddit?! :D)
But we're simply not affraid to go out there and make an impression, even if some people do hate us.

Sexuality. Most people judge you on how you look, the way you act and also on your sexuality. Just because you have different interests than other people doesn't make you less of a human, you are who you are and nothing can change that. It's not like you chose to be different, I didn't. If you get told that it's wrong, don't believe it, there's nothing you can do. Sure, your friends and parents may not accept you but there are many people that are just like you. I always hate having to hear homophobe comments but it's life, therefore I can't run away from them. Dealing with it isn't easy but it gets better. Just as long as you're happy. I'm proud to be different, there's nothing wrong with me nor is there anything wrong with you. Sexuality doesn't define you. You're personality does.

scene kids are called so many names only out of jealousy. we are known mostly for our good looks. but the hidden things,,, the things that most people don't see,, our personalities.. how when haters must comment on us,, we let it slide and take it in,, our haters are the things that make us stronger.. we aren't the kids that sit in the corners and let people push us around, no, we stand up for those kids that need us.. we are hated because we are'nt afraid to speak our minds. we act like ourselves and thats how we get popular. we aren't fake. we know who we are. we aren't nice only to get recognition and popularity. we help. we become roemodels. we are,, SCENE!
Karen DOLL
To Me Scene Means Being Yourself And Expressing Who You Are. So You Don't Have To Follow The Stereotypes There Is About Scene Kids, Like Teasing Your Hair, Using A Lot Of Eyeliner, Dying Your Hair Many Colors, Listening To Screamo Music, And Being Extremely Skinny. It Is Important To Be Just You And Don't Give A Fuck What Others Think About You.(:
Ali GummyBear
Everyone has a certain personality and it's important to express yourself using your personality as your muse. Being scene requires not caring what other people think of you and not caring about what other people want to become, because you are who you are and nobody has the right to change that. It's important not to be scene because that's what everyone else does, but because you truely believe that that is the style for you. Never cave in and never give up.

People take one look at a "scenekid" and automatically think they are stuck-up. I'd like to prove that at least 50% of the scene community isn't like that. Everyone is going to have a hater. Especially in the criticising economy we live in today. We've learned to deal with it. Scene is all about the big "look". We have to have the style, hair, peircings, ect. People don't know how hard it really is to keep up with all of that. It takes dedication and trial-error. It's very hard to get recognized as a big scene-queen if you're not what's concidered "perfect". I am unperfect. I am a scene kid. Changeing for people, is out of the question. Deciding to join the scene-queen community is a very tough choice. It was even hard for me to make the "big move. Scene is all about confidence. Take pride in your scene look.

First of all, scene isn't a label its a way of living you're life. People say that "scene kids" are just kids trying to get attention. Other say that "scene kids" are worthless because they dress to stand out which draws attention to them. The way I see it is, "scene kids" that dress "emo", tease their hair, dye it unnatural colors and/or use unnatural colored extensions, do that because they want to express that they aren't afraid to show the world that they're different. "Scene kids" like that aren't afraid of what people think of them nor do they show that they really care because people that make fun of "scene and emo kids" don't like that we're different; they don't like that we don't want to be another clone of wearing one set of colors. We're the funnest kids you'll ever meet because we love to go out, be wild, express ourselves to the fullest, and we don't care what other people think because their opinion doesn't matter. As long you're happy with yourself, then people should be content because we are who we are. There's no changing who we are just to be please other people. If you're "scene/emo", then don't change to what most people wear just to make them happy. Dress how you want to, wear your hair and makeup the way you want to. Don't be another clone because if God made us to be clones, then there wouldn't be "scene and emo kids".
