To me, being scene is more than a fashion trend, an attitude, or a label. Being scene is a lifestyle. Being scene is living your life the way you want to live it without concerning others. People in today's world base a person merely on their appearance. If you don't fit in with the stereotypical image of what is "normal", most people go to great lengths to ignore, and sometimes tease, people that aren't like everyone else. Living in a small town in Arkansas, a kid like me is rare. I go through the same things all normal teenagers go through, just with more ridicule. I'm constantly teased about the way I look and present myself, more than most normal kids, even. But being scene is having the confidence to still be yourself. Being scene gives me a way to express my creativity and uniqueness. Scene is a lifestyle. And it's the only lifestyle for me!

People in my town refer scene kids as stupid. they criticize me and anyone like that for being different, they call me emo,stupid,goth and some people result to devil worshiper and no matter how many times i tell them no im scene, no one will listen so i decided, "who needs them?" I've got friends who like me for me and i wouldn't change that for the world. All haters need to mind there own business. Scene kids to me if just a way of life and when people criticize it its irritating. No one should listen to them because they've got it all wrong. Scene kids aren't less important or more important than anyone else and were all equal, people should really start listening to what other people have to say about being scene because i think more people would be interested if they knew what it was(:

What's so wrong about being who you want to be? My philosophy is dress, do, and act how you want. I'm a teenager, this is my time to explore my style and get away with it. I know there is always going to be people that don't agree with the way I look, but why not? I'm not forcing it on you, don't force your opinion on me. High school is full of stereotypes. If you wear black then you are called gothic or emo, even if you just like the color. No matter what grade you are in, your always going to be stereotyped. Don't stand for it, show the world that your different. Try new things, talk to people you wouldn't usually talk to. Show people that you're not who they think you are. If you let people get to you, you're not going to enjoy yourself.

Being Scene, is being you and expressing your own style. No matter where you are, people criticize you. There’s always someone who doesn't like you; it's impossible to please everyone so ignore them and be proud of yourself. My hair and make-up are always my way of wearing it. I don’t try to be someone who I’m not. To me I love coloring my hair strange colors or patterns. A scene kid doesn’t mean a kid with colored hair scene could be worn as any normal blonde, brown, black; however you want it. Adding accessories is always fun . Bows are my fav. I like my clothes; skinny jeans are awesome and with a addition of a tu-tu is cute. I don’t copy people’s scene looks. I always try to make my own and when I do I feel it’s me and no one can wear it better. Be who you are not who people want you to be.

ever since day one people have called me a fake. everyone seems to do that to people but i know that on scene queens i cant be ecused of being a fake. everyone has their own personality and should be given a chance to shine. i hope that the other girls being made fun of for their true colors can join something like scenequeens is for me so they can have the spotlight for a while. i just want to remind everyone that they are beautiful and with scenequeens help i can do that. thanks :)

in primary school, i was such a quiet person, i always got abused and taken the mickey out of what i looked like. but i grew up, and now..in secondary school i have discovered a new me, i have never tried to look scene. i always try and be myself and stand out from the crowed. but my friends always call me scene and i am. and im proud. i still get abused. chavs always think 'oh if your not one of us, your an emo' well yes. maybe i am. scene is after all just a colourful emo. i have scars but im proud of who i am. scene is about having your own personality and being different. and i like all the new people you meet through being different. i've discovered there are many people so close to me who have thought the same for years. so just be proud of who you are.

Hi, my real name is Sara Espana, I live in a town where most people are afraid to be...well different. It's really small and kinda boring, the only exciting thing we have around here is the fair and of course when i go with my friends, people look at us weird. My friends aren't even really like me, they are afraid to dress the way they want because if the judgmental people out there. I also get called emo, cutter, fake, poser, and almost anything a person could think of. I stay strong because i know i was different for a reason. I wanna show people that looking like this isn't wrong, we don't judge people who dress in cowboy hats and snakeskin boots and call them a hick, we dont call people nerds for dressing in suspenders and who carry a calculator like a cell phone, people have different looks and additudes. So I'm proud to be and look like the person i am. I enjoy wearing lots of bracelets, teasing my hair, and wearing bright colors and dark makeup. It's me and nothing should be able to change that. My family tries to change me but i never will. I finally told my mom that i liked dressing this way and that if i liked it, then she would respect that. Also one day i was at school and these "gansters" kept harassing me about my hair, so finally i said "i would stop if i were you, because one day you're gonna feel sorry for everyone you teased. I dress this way because i thinkit looks good, it like you think those pants that go down to your knees look good. Nobody likes to see your underpants but you like it so you dont care. So before you continue to tease me, think about what i said and i'll see who the real jerk is here" then i turned around and walked away. I was as nice as i could be. My friends were shocked that i had the nerve, thos "gansters" dont talk to or about me anymore, i felt like sharing that :) thanks
