Scene and how to handle the critics
No matter where you are, people will criticize you. There will always be someone who doesn't like you; it's impossible to please everyone. You need to learn to embrace your flaws. It's important to know who you are and know what you want. Remember, most people hate because they're jealous or hating makes them feel powerful. Stand out to be confident. Don't ever become scene just to please your peers. Also if you are going to be a scene kid in a place where they are extremely rare, be prepared for the many angry glares and discrimination you will get from other people. However, be careful not to become overconfident. Nobody wants to interact with someone who puts them down or acts like a jerk, but don't let people walk all over you either. You need to know just the right balance.
you absolutly shuld be nice. People say scene kids are horrible, nasty and just plain rude.
active on social networking sites. MySpace and Facebook are the two basic sites you should have accounts on; a few other sites popular among scene kids include Twitter, Buzznet, TheSceneKidz.ning.com, and Stickam. Accept any friend request you get (within reason). However, avoid SOME websites with the words "emo," "scene," "punk," or anything else like that in the URL, these websites are overrun with posers.
Only upload images if they look good, and only take pictures if you know how. Feel free to edit your picture to take out imperfections listen to watev music u like but at least listen to bands like asking alexandria or miss may i hey if u dont like screamo try mayday parade or nickasaur.

absalutly do not wear five bright, different colored barrettes, bows, and headbands at the same time. Avoid this and pay attention to detail
Random colors and lots of chunky accessories are always added into there outfits. Keeping those tips in mind
Work on your self-confidence, as it's a well-known fact that scene queens are always confident. No matter where they are
scene queens are trend setters so Start a new trend
Scene girls aren't bullies. Everyone has feelings. get to know the people who are have rlly not many friendsgetdifferent coloured eye liners and lippy, make it heavy but not so you look like a badger because that is not a good look. do stars or hearts something at the corners of your eyes, or do something to make you look a bit different,
a fun thing to do is todraw all over them, write song names and lyrics, friends names and band members and other stuff
Become a Scene Queen
Become A Scene Queen Audrey Kitching, Hanna Beth, KiKi Kannibal, Dani Gore, just a few of the famous scene queens out there, who have been some of the bigest inspiration to the scene girl style. You see them on myspace and buzznet, and it pops out, you wanna be like them. Here's a few tips to becoming a scene queen. Build up your self-confidence. You need to always remember that your pretty and to embrace your flaws. Its important to have good self-esteem to be a scene queen. It's always important to remember your haters and why the make you famous, but don't get to confident. No one wants to be around a concided, pushy jerk, so also remeber not to over do it. When a scene queen its important to become social, so make a myspace, twitter, buzznet, youtube,or anything else to increase your popularity. Add many picture and blogs and be sure to update. Accept any friend request that you get. While your at it you also might wanna come up with a good scene name. Most important part of becoming a scene queen, the clothes, hair and make-up. When it comes to clothes be bold. Wear colorful skinny jeans with animal prints or even black ones with rips in them, whatever you comftoble with. Also wear cute graphic shirts or band shirts from hot topic. Also wear skirts and dresses and tutu's if you like. Any color is okay. Add some accessories like bows, gloves, headbands, hairclips to your creative clothes. As for shoes, it can be vans and converse to mary jane heels with skulls and buttons and zippers on them, depending on what your wear. For make-up, think bright, think creative, think BOLD. A very popular make-up look is the thick black cat eye. Maybe throw in some neon colors like neon pink, or blue or green. The smokey eye look is also a good choice. Its also good to put stars or hearts on your face, think 80's. Lastly the hair. Big part of bieng a scene queen. Firstly, it would be a good idea to get it cut in layers, long or short, whatever you prefer. If you want to make it look extra long put in 16-18 inch extensions. It would also be a good idea to dye your hair, colors like pink, or purple,or blue. Also tease your hair, big or spiky. There are good scene hair tutorials on youtube, which will get you inspired to created you own scene hair looks.
Wanting to be Scene
Wanting to be scene. Okay so a lot of girls want to be "Scene Queens" and want to be the girl that everybody fakes, like the new Katie Baby-face. But honestly, its not just about being popular, its about being yourself. Standing out in the your own little place. So don't try to being just another copy of anyone. To Begin, You need to make sure that you have your own style, so pick up a few things here and there, as you go along. Hot topic may be the place to start, but don't want to end up a clone. Band T's are an important, and so are skinny's. White Skinny's, Black Skinny's, Pink Skinny's. you need them all. If you're not the kind of Girl who does the frilly stuff, then that's okay, you just need to stick to the simple, a couple of T-shirts from your favorite band, and skinny Jeans. but if you're truly aiming to be yourself, then go all out! a Tu-Tu and Legwarmers , and whatever the hell top you want! A lot of people don't really know or think about this but Hoodie's are definitely an important part of being 'Scene'. have lots and lots of hoodies. multiple colors, designs, splatter-day and all. Next is the hair, As you may see on alot of girls, Layerd and Teased is the way to go, but colors, and all that are all your choice. You can go with the Classic Black, or You can go Bleach blonde. those are the two color's you see most. But any color is fine. From Blue, to Red, to Orange, to Purple! Now with the length, it can be cropped short, or long and full. and dont worry, if you're hair is to short, and you wish it was long, just run down to the mall, and buy yourself some extentions. I personally use the ones made of Horse Hair, to make my hair look longer. You must make sure that they blend in with your hair color. or it will look fake and tacky. But i use Ones made of plastic for my highlights, you can buy them at hottopic for about 6 dollors. Coontails usually go good with Bleach Blondes. And now that you know you're Hair and Style. Just Try to be yourself, don't let People who hate "Scenes" get you down. cause if this is who you want to be. go for it. Be yourself and have fun.
Love, Heartbreak, Confusion.
No matter who you are, you will always have haters and people who judge you. No matter where you go bitches will bitch and punks will pick fights. There will always be beef.
In my case, I'm bisexual and my fiance just walked out on me. I believe he left the country and so I packed up my things, left a note on the fridge, gave our kitten to my landlord to watch until Logan showed up again. I'm back in my hometown and I've called off the engagement. I'm trying to move on with the help of a dear friend who's now my girl again.
When times get tough, keep your eyeliner thick and spray your hair high. Pull out your camera, and take a thousand more pictures of you trying not to cry. The more emotion that shows in your eyes, the more intense they will be. No matter what happens, your life will return to normal one day. Even if it doesn't or if you forget who you are. Your girlies will always be there and don't let go of yourself.

We all see the world in different lights. Some dark, some bright some flickering. But all the world is the same. We all live and breathe. Lives go on but we never notice the struggle that wich our life revolves around. The struggle to live is hard enough without all the torture that others can put on you. The judgment people press apon you, the stares and comments that people say behind your back. Just live your life and walk through those bitches. Live your life. Be proud to be who you are and never let anyone tell you what to do or what to be. The best thing you can be is yourself and if people don't accept that then fuck them. Fake people are a waste of time trying to cover up who they are then they are to scared to live their life to the fullest. Don't be them. Make it you and make it wild crazy and scene!
What is alternative fashion? What do they look like? How do they dress? Are all questions people get asked. Alternative fashion is a life style NOT A LABLE! From gothic to scene and everything in between, for all ages too. It's the beauty where someone can be extream with their make-up, clothes, hair, and accessories. There's no limit to what you can do with it. You can color your hair every color of the rainbow and still look drop dead gorguse. You can wear heavy extream make-up and look like a super model. You can have over a 100 piercings and tattoos and still be beautiful. Your hair can be layered and teased out while have purple and neon green highlights. You can make your make-up look like blood is coming from your eyes. Your clothes can be simple band t-shirts, skinnys, and a hoodie. Your accessories can range to think to extreamly thick from plastic to metal. You can mix up what you want and have fun showing off too. You stand apart from others and other apart from mainstream commercial fashion. Alternative fashion is often looked at through the lense of social politics - it is considered a visual expression of opposition to societal norms, thus heavily associated with the idealism, energy and rebellion of youth culture. Alternative fashion generally lays down a challenge to accepted norms, though the reactions received by wearers of alternative fashion from those who adhere to more conventional stylings can be as diverse as the wearers themselves. It can be a visual language that people employ to communicate with each other indicating common interests or involvement with similar activities, a challenge to modern conceptions of aesthetic beauty and/or a basic form of self-expression, like painting or writing. Alternative style is showing that you can be different and still look good. The clothes range but the normal is skinnys, band t-shirts, and ocassionally hoodies. The hair is usually multi colored, layered, and teased out. The make-up is usually dark, thick, and extream, either with eyeliner or eyeshawdow. Your accessories need to be extream as well. Either if your wearing thick plastic designed braclets to thin metal plain bracelets. You can play around with your clothes, hair, make-up, and accessories. But don't go and clone someone because you like their style that just means your fake. But play around and have fun with it, don't do it because you wanna be part of something do it because you IT"S YOU! Even though your standing out and showing off your style you will get people who will stare at you because your different, they may even talk about you. But don't and i mean DON'T start stuff because no one likes a cocky, stuck-up. But also don't let people walk all over you. That just shows your weak. You want to have the look of "Yeah, im beautiful but I'm not stuck-up and cocky, but I'm not gonn let you walk all over me," kinda look. Have fun with it and be extream.
being scene it gets kinda hard being a scene girl, i have had to deal with living in a small town my whole life where there isnt any style. So the kids like to make fun of me for being diffrent then all of them. I just try too keep my head held high and not let people get to me i just roll it off my back. Most people want to knock my selfesteem down to make themselves feel better. I dont let them decide who i want to be, i just want to be myself and this is who i am, and People label me as a slut, fake, lez, freak, emo, loser because of my style and i wont let them get to me so they do what they can to hurt me but i wont give up what i am on the inside and what i am on the outside. Dont ever let people get you down for something they cant be, be yourself and dont let anyone change that.
How i became me. When i was in 5th grade i was always the ugly girl,at least i felt that way.So over the summer before i went to sixth grade i decided i wanted to be different.I struggled to find many ways, and finally found the power of being "emo" although i didnt know i was until one day searching on the cumputer.Starting sixth grade was, terrible, but i still strived to be different and pretty,i finally decided scene was the right way to go for me.And you know what i wouldnt even call it scene because i am my own person. And i love music, and wearing what i want, and teasing my hair, call me a poser dare to and i wont even care. You dont think being preppy is poserish?Because youre like everyone else, you are more poser than i ever will be.So That is a little about Arkia KaOtIc.Now i am in 7th grade may sweem a little young huh?but im more of myself now than i ever have been, and i like it that way.
I found out about scene from my friend Malyia. I never heard of scene before and i did a lot of research on it and then i fell in love with this totally awesome sauce style!i never really let people bring me down because of my lack of fitting in. i have never been the kid of was like anyone else. i wore knee high socks, i loved the color purple, and i was a real tom-boy. i could beat any boy at football. that was why people always made fun of me, but i was never the one to be insulted easily. i usually told people,"there is no way you can insult me. i will just turn it into a compliment," and that is the way i became scene.

Being in a world, as a scenester isn't easy. Knowing people will critisize you, you have to be strong. Sometimes it may not be easy, because people will look at you like a freak, weird, and different. Don't EVER be 'scene' to fit in with the crowd. Believe in what you believe, and be yourself. Don't follow everyone elses trends in their style. Make up your own, because anything can be welcome to the style, as long as you add your own flair to it. Add a nice Tiara, Pearl Necklace, Panda beanie, everything will work. In the end, your confidence is your strongest attribute. Without confidence, you can't make it being yourself. Be careful in the world, because sometimes critizisers will take advantage of your confidence, and find any way to bring you down. Just make sure, you keep strong, and never give up on yourself. Because no matter how fat, short, thin, or whatever race you are, you can ALWAYS be yourself, and always be different than others.
First off I'll tell you how I do my hair, I put in a spray that protects my hair from heat damage, then I straighten it so that its pin straight, then I put a little bit of hair wax by the roots to prevent frizz. Then I spray all my hair with hairspray and put my first layer into sections, I spray the first section with hairspray and start backcombing it til it stands straight up and then I spray it again, I repeat this for the entire first layer. For the second layer, I spray it all and put it into sections and start teasing it, but so that it stands just under the first layer, and then I re-spray it again. I do the same thing for the third layer. Then I use my hands to push down my hair and form it the way I want it to be, after wards I take a comb and brush in any stray pieces

Makeup............ Makeup is mi #1 fav cuz it really can brighten up a momment or really just make you look depressed lik some people make there makeup look. If you have a bad day there probably go more on the darker side and if youur really bubbly or happy you probably do crazy colors or bright 1z. I like dark makeup on but i do usually put a softer or a brighter color with it to go with mi shirt or what not. LOVE, Firecrackerr Lynn
there is nothing bad about scene kids it is just showing your indovidual qualitys.when people that look different from others it only means that you want to express yourself.when people will pick on you it means that there scared to be different than anyone else but when people say normal its just a word theres no such thing as normal everyone has differences.no walks around like robots liking the same thing as everyone else.not that many people will understand that though and they have to understand that there not normal eather.when people think there better than everyone else then but that just means they have nothing good in there lives.
‘Scene’ Girls dress original and outgoing. In my perspective they want to show who they are in their looks, its very fun, bright, and outspoken. They are truly the examples of being you and not lying to today’s posed and torn fashion world. They show how much music, colors, beauty, perfection, and makeup can be ones beauty and self. Scene Queens and Kings have changed the sense of style forever, We as Scene kids make people stare at the way we dress, act, and even draw. But we don’t care because we are ourselves and not afraid to show it.
You need to know just the right balance. you absolutly shuld be nice. People say scene kids are..... the worst people but that's just because they dress different. No one ever gets to know them because they just judge them right away.
What Does Scene Mean? Most people mistake scene for dark make-up, tight jeans, and death metal music. Some scene kids are like that, but honestly take a look around your class rooms. How many kids are actually into that stuff? Maybe they have the colourful teased hair, the dark eyeliner, tight jeans and coontails, but how different are they from all the rest of the "scene examples"? You shouldn't change to fit in with people who follow the trend, you should be yourself! Every trend/style comes from some previous fad or theme from WAY before our time, we change it, and make it our own. Scene kids don't have to have that "cute, innocent, sweet, childish" personality everyone creates for them. Each person has their own way of thinking, talking, and living. If you aspire to be scene, or follow a trend similar, DON'T do it because everyone else is, and DON'T try to copy someone else' style. Be original and BE YOURSELF.
Hey guys! So basically, I am just the byproduct of two people with serious issues. I come from a broken family and I was raised in a lie. I hate telling people about my past because they think that I'm lying or crying out for pity/negative attention. I hate a sob story. I listen to literally everything from Marilyn Manson to Bob Marley, Kesha to Hollywood Undead, Bullet For My Valentine to Paramore, and Stone Sour to Deftones. I hate country music so much I could kill it myself...but I like Johnny Cash on occasion. I am the only true scene girl at my school in Iowa. My friends call themselves emo but their not. They try to look scene but tend to fail miserably and I am the only one who can pull it off but my in-and-out-of-the-hospitals mother hates me wearing makeup or doing my hair like a scene kid. I look OK without it, but I also have to wear glasses because nobody will let me get contacts and I'm really only 14. I don't know what to do when my past drifts back into my life...I used to cut myself. I don't anymore because my best friend was scared when she saw my scars. She made me quit. To make matters worse, I am bisexual and there are only a few girls at my school that are bi but I'm not attracted to any of them. Only one girl has my full support and love and she broke up with me...she was my first girlfriend. I haven't had one since then. I hate my life...but I like to make my friends laugh and I like setting a good example for everyone who looks up to me. I never smoke because my mom does and I only take medicine when the doctors say that if I don't I'll either die or go into a hospital. I have never been in a hospital since the day I was born--for myself--like I've never been a patient at one. This is because I am so afraid to become my mother. I love emo/scene fashion...and I really like scene girls but I don't know if I like any scene boys. I don't know how to talk to people I like...especially boys. Girls usually like me. I guess I am a rockstar/fame magnet because I've been pulled on stage (@ Hairball when they were in Clive, IA) & I know Slipknot personally (yes I bawled like a pussy when I heard that Paul Gray died) & I literally just got a phone call from Joel Ekman (Stone Sour's drummer) at like 12:30-something last night...er, this morning I guess. Joe wants me to come to a show here in Iowa on Shawn Crahan's birthday (September 24th.) I'm not famous yet...am I? I guess I scare some people and they say I am weird but I'm totally proud of it. I have my own forum for scene kids and I just started it on the 1st of September and I really want everyone on here to join. thexartxSCENE forum url:http://z7.invisionfree.com/theartSCENE/index.php?act=idx Sign up with your scene names <3 I love you guys so much! Keep posting articles! I know I will! - Leah P.S. My scene friends call me Leah. xx
Hello! Scene is not just a style, its a lifestyle. You could say its seblings with the music style "emo" but its so much better! You don't have to wear just black clothes, even if black is the basic color you should use strong colors like red, yellow, pink and blue to pimp it up! The makeup should be really awsome, something like your granny would die if she saw. But I think you can express your own feelings thorugh your your makeup, clothes, style, hair and acessoars, and thats the best. But people might not like it and if you want to be scene you have to take it, everyone wont like your new style. For the makeup use strong colors again. You can go from pink to black on the eyes, or just black like mabye Hannie Dropkick, that looks really awsome. Search on google, youtube and other sites to get insperation. Your skin sould be pale, use a fondation that souts your skin. If your skin is really wite then you might look gothic and thats not what you want so then you can use a blush, you will look much healthier! :) Or just go out in the sun once in a while.. :p The hair is really important! Really. Scene hair is sliced up so you can get the large volyme. The best thing to do is cut it with a racer, i think. I did it by myself and im pretty happy with it (mabye not the back but i think im going to cut it soon again). After you cut it you should dye it midnightblack or platanium/white. Use extencion in different colors. You can dye it in pink, blue, green and others too, its up to you what you want to. But if your parents doesnt allowe you to do dye it then just use the extencions, you will look scene with just that! :] stay beautiful.. <3
People say scene kids are douchebags and other disrespectful names because those people think they are better then us when we are all the same. I think everyone should treat other equally without starting a whole bunch of drama just because we dress and have different music they do. I treat everyone with respect even though they call me names and treat me badly, but I don't listen to them. I love to be treated the way I treat people. If I let anyone walk all over anyone else, even if I didn't know that person I will be there to stick up for them. I love to make alot of friends so that is why I am very kind hearted towards everyone. I don't care what people say about me because I am dressing how I wanna dress and to be myself and not some hater if I dont have something that that person has. I love to be my own quality person and if they don't like the way I do or the way I do something then I just don't need to bother with rude, disrespectful, ignorant people.
never care about what ppl think about you . you will exactly get a bad opinion from most ppl . perhaps they think that you kinda strange person , then they will stare at you . Maybe they will stop u when u pass them . They will make fun of you . But who cares ? this is the way which you choose . so just go ahead and be proud of yourself . who cares if u get the coolest hair ever ? we can wear clothes whichever we like , and go hell for ppl think that we are stranger . we have our own way to enjoy our life . so yea how dare you for beeing so scene ??
There are times when you just want to be like everyone else so no one can bad mouth you, since hey! you look just like them. But sometimes you have to step up your game. Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. I think we've always been victums of bullying or harsh remarks by people and yeah they hurt but that just makes you stronger. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Ugly isnt a word in my dictionary. That word should be burned. People call other people names to make them feel better about themselves, And you know what, not saying anything back to them makes them feel even worse. Being scene is pretty awesome. And of corse you walk down the street and everyone looks at your hair and you get judged right there and then. But they dont know you. Scene is just a label, You may look scene but it doesnt mean your stuck up and think your the best which is what most people say scene is. Scene is a way to express yourself through big hairstyles and lots of color. We arent the best we are just out there to have fun. Live everyday as a party and never let anyone put you down. Know who you are, and dont let anyone change who you are. Lots of love. Amber applekum xoxo
